    Nice to meet you guys. It is my first post in this blog.

    I should write up a post about introducing my blog why it is made and what is the purpose to make this blog as soon as possible. I suddenly remember that I didn't write it up yet.

     

    Shortly, this post is being written for giving information and genuine review for foreigners who visit to Korea.

    I know they always have difficulty to find a good restaurant here in Korea.

    Mostly, they are deceived by wrong information come from internet which is made as an advertise to get more innocent customers. I have seen lots of foreigner friends get wrong information about famous restaurant in Korea.

     

    I don't want foreigners who visit to Korea and who want to experience the real taste of Korean Cuisine get disappointed with bad restaurants. About this, I will write up detailedly in other post in Notice Category. 

    From now on, please always keep your eyes on my blog to get genuine and real information about Korea :)

    The restaurant I would like to review at this time is

     

    '성남/모란 계화기식당 (Kyehwaki Sikdang located in Moran Station, Seongnam-si)'

     

     

    This restaurant sells many kinds of chicken menus and some other main & side dishes.

    But the main menu is 'Dakdoritang (which is Korean Style Chicken Stew)'.

    It is written as 닭도리탕 or 닭볶음탕 in Korean.

     

     

    In case of people who don't know what dakdoritang is..

    Dakdoritang (or dakbokkeumtang) is a chicken dish that is cooked in a spicy red sauce along with vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and onions. This recipe uses a combination of chicken thighs and wings and shows two ways to cook it.

    I am gonna introduce a good restaurant in Seongnam-si in Korea to you guys. I went to Moran station, Seongnam-si because I and my friends promised to have a bonding together there.

     

    After agonizing for ages, suddenly I would like to taste the food that I suggested for you guys here 'Dakbokeumtang / Dakdoritang (닭볶음탕 / 닭도리탕)'.

    Finally, we found up a great restaurant for this food through internet searching in Google & Naver.

     

    (Naver is a representative searching engine in Korea, South exactly same function as Google, USA.

    It is actually the best to search about information about Korea from NAVER, but you guys would feel difficult to find there because MOST of them are written in Korean. This is the reason why I tried to make another blog. For you readers here, foreigner!)

     

    I forgot to take picture of the entrance of this restaurant at that time.

    Sorry guys, I will try to add on later if I visit there again.

    You can see lots of menus when you open it up.

    Food made from chicken are mainly served here such as Chicken, Dakdoritang, and Sweet & Sour Chicken.

     

    I have no idea if there is an English version of menu, but I don't think they would have one.

    So, I am gonna translate the menus here for you guys.

    Omg it took a lot of time to arrange and explain menu here. There are many kinds of menus in this restaurant.

    As you can see on the menu, it seems like the main menu in this restaurant is 'Dakdoritang (Chicken Stew)'.

     

    We don't normally finish drinking and eating at the first restaurant we visit, so we decided to choose singular menu only, not set menu. We finally chose to eat 'Mugeunji Dakdoritang (Chicken Stew with Aged Kimchi)'.

     


     

    Kyehwaki Sikdang Moran Station : Inner Atmosphere

     

    After we ordered our menu, we finally got a time to look around the atmosphere in the restaurant. It seems like it is decorated to attack women's heart with CHERRY BLOSSOM TREE.

     

    I couldn't stop applausing for the owner of this restaurant because it was a wise choice. You must target and gain woman's heart if you want to success in any business lol

    Look us guys, whatever we do, we MOSTLY give up and follow our girlfriend's choices, don't we?

    Not to make trouble lol Just kidding :)

     

    I would like to show you guys restaurant's view with cherry blossom.

     

     


     

    Kyehwaki Sikdang Moran Station : Mugeunji Dakdoritang (Chicken Stew with Aged Kimchi)

     

    Our food was served after 10 ~ 15 mins from order.

    Let's see how it is by pictures.

     

    Oh, I feel like I took those pics so badly. It was way better than how it looks in the pictures.

     

    Do you wonder what ingredients were in the food?

    Not really? but I would like to let you guys know!

     

    This food contains Chicken with bone, various kinds of vegetables such as onion, spring onion, aged kimchi, and so on, rice cake, quail egg, potato (It is pretty expensive these days, so most of dakdoritang restaurants avoid adding it.), and glass noodle.

     

    It tastes just as expected as I know how dakdoritang tastes. But, it was little salty on my tongue. If my memory was correct, you could control the level of spicy when you order : 3 stages (Not spicy / Normal / Spicy).

    I had a friend who can't eat spicy food, so we ordered 'medium level', but I would have chosen 'spicy level' if we didn't care it. I will leave another review of this restaurant after trying 'spicy level' if I have a chance to visit here again later.

     

    We were 4 people, so we ordered 'Large size'. But, I can't miss talking about the price. It is really cheap to pay \23,000 (Approx. US$19.42) with Large size of this food. Normally, you need to pay around \35,000 ~ \40,000 (Approx. US$29.55 ~ US$33.77) for large size of this food. So, I would like to give a great score for price table in this restaurant :)

     

    (Actually, it costs way less if you cook yourself at home haha because it takes time.

    So, it is totally up to you whether you buy time for it or not!)

     


     

    Kyehwaki Sikdang Moran Station : Cheese Nurungjibab (Fried Rice with Crust of Overcooked Rice & Mozzarella Cheese)

     

    We had a look menu again to order more food because our soju was still left in the bottle 😂🤣😂🤣

     

    Do you remember 'Cheese Nurungjibab (Fried Rice with Crust of Overcooked Rice & Mozzarella Cheese)' among the menu I wrote above?

     

    I love this menu! Believe me most of Koreans love this menu : Fried Rice after main menu.

    We couldn't pass ordering it again this time.

    But we also wondered why it is little expensive compared with other fried rice from other restaurants.

    (Fried rice's price is averagely \2,000 (Approx. US$1.69) per one, but it was \3,000 (Approx. US$2.53) here.)

     

    We ordered 3x Cheese Nurungjibab. It looked so special when the staff brought this to us.

    Wow, we couldn't stop our saliva.

    It was so amazing to see the combination of crust of overcooked rice and mozzarella cheese.

    If you didn't try this combination, YOU MUST TRY IT.

    IT IS REALLY DELICIOUS, AND PERFECT COMBINATION.

    It will give you a special mouthfeeling. and calories.

     

    It's the time to see the completely cooked fried rice.

     

     

    Can you see this?

    Is it possible not to hold your spoon with this food?

    It is a crime if you don't lol

     

    Unstopable gobbling up = Sesame Oil giving shiny + Seaweed Powder giving tasty + Yellow-ish Crust of overcooked rice + Mozzarella Cheese melting on the rice

     

    We drank up more two bottles of soju because it was sooooooooo delicious.

    Sooooo delicious / It was ranked in TOP 5 fried rice I have ever tried in my life / Crunchy mouthfeel from Crust of Overcooked Rice / Perfect harmonization between the rice and mozarella cheese
